Where it started
Why we went raw.
Barkley's started with a simple frustration: our own dogs were healthier eating raw, but nothing on the market felt truly safe to feed every day. So we asked a harder question — could raw food be both minimally processed and pathogen-free?
The answer was Electron Beam Sterilization. Unlike High-Pressure Processing, EBS neutralizes harmful bacteria without altering the texture, moisture, or nutrient structure of the meat — so your dog gets real raw nutrition, not a compromise.
Founded in 2017 in California's Central Valley, Barkley's is built on more than 30 years of USDA- and SQF-certified meat packing expertise. What started as a family craft is now a multi-generational passion project.
The core differentiator
EBS vs. HPP: a 7-point comparison.
Both technologies sterilize raw pet food. Only one preserves what makes raw food raw.

Sourced from farms we actually know
Every protein in Barkley's comes from family farms we've vetted ourselves — no mystery meat, no anonymous supply chains. Just real ingredients, raised responsibly and traceable from farm to freezer.

Sterilized, not compromised
Electron Beam Sterilization does its job at the molecular level — deactivating pathogens without cooking, pressurizing, or chemically altering the raw food your dog depends on.

Formulated by a veterinary nutritionist
Every recipe is developed with a board-certified veterinary nutritionist to meet and exceed AAFCO standards for complete and balanced nutrition.
Real dogs, real results
Real dogs. Real transformations.
My senior lab went from picking at her bowl to eating it like she was a puppy again. Three weeks in, her coat is shinier and she's somehow got more energy than my toddler.
Picky doesn't begin to describe my frenchie. We've tried 8 brands of food in 2 years. He inhaled Barkley's on day one and hasn't looked back. I cried a little.
I run a small grooming business. I've started recommending Barkley's to every client whose dog has skin issues. The before/after I'm seeing on these dogs is unreal.

Frequently asked questions
We keep it pure, simple, and honest. Every bowl is made with raw, premium beef as the first ingredient, paired with whole food ingredients — nothing artificial, no fillers, just butcher-level nutrition your dog deserves.
Nope! Our bowls are ready-to-eat raw. You can scoop and serve straight from the freezer or let thaw for about 10 minutes. Either way, your pup gets a fresh, nutrient-rich meal in seconds.
Check our feeding guide on the package or right here on the page. Simply match your dog's weight to the cups per day. Remember, every pup is unique — adjust as needed to keep them healthy and happy.
Absolutely. If your pup is new to raw, mix with their current food for 5–7 days to help them transition smoothly. Many parents stick with a mix long-term too!
100%. Our bowls are crafted in a USDA facility with the same standards we'd want for our own food. We use whole, natural ingredients — no shortcuts, no junk.
Just like you would with raw meat in your kitchen. Wash your hands, bowls, utensils, and surfaces with hot soapy water after serving. Safety for you, wellness for them.
Nope — these bowls are crafted just for pups. Keep them for your four-legged family member only.
