5 Best Dog Friendly Places to Visit in California 

We all know that going on vacation with your pup can be challenging at times, but leaving them at home is never fun so… We have rounded up our top 5 picks for a dog-friendly getaway in California! 

#1 — Carmel by the Sea

Did someone say ‘beach’? Well, let’s jump in! Carmel by the Sea might just be one of our favorites on the list and is also very dog friendly. While walking around downtown there are pups strolling up and down the streets, enjoying the company of fellow pups! There are also lots of fun outdoor dining options and of course, just a 3 minute walk from the town is the gorgeous beach ready for any dog to play!

#2 — San Deigo

Dog friendly and fun for pet parents? OK, I think we have found the perfect spot! San Diego is known for nice weather year-round which makes it the ideal location for pups and pup parents. With loads of fun adventures to be had, lots of outdoor dining options and of course endless dog beaches, this is a must-visit. Time for a road trip!

#3 — Mendocino

With the beach on our mind, we thought we couldn’t leave out Mendocino. If your pup loves the coast then this is the place for you! There are a handful of dog friendly places to stay, lots of great hiking trails, and of course plenty of open space for zoomy dogs. The perfect weekend getaway!

Ah yes, the mountains are calling! Summer or Winter in Lake Tahoe are both beautiful times to vacation. Lots of hiking, lake adventures and tons of outdoorsy stuff for the pup. If you live in a hot part of California Tahoe is always a great little escape for some cooler mountain weather. Have a snow pup? Tahoe is also the answer.
