Dog of the Month: Meet Kobe!

What breed is Kobe and does he have any nicknames? (_kobethepup) Kobe is a mixed-breed rescue – after a DNA test we were able to narrow him down to 50% German Shorthaired Pointer, 25% Rottweiler, 12.5% Australian Shepherd, and 12.5% ‘other’ (I guess the process isn’t perfect yet, haha). He has a wide range of nicknames – kobesters, kobe-a-lobe, kobeski, bubbas, lil nugget, cutie butt…the list goes on.

What’s a ‘day in the life of Kobe’ like? Kobe’s days are an exciting mix of eating/napping/pooping/playing. After breakfast, he curls up and goes back to sleep. He wakes up just in time for his afternoon walk to the dog park, after which he snuggles up on the couch and goes back to sleep. After his afternoon nap, he awakens ready for playtime with a game of tug or a nice chew toy. Then he’ll perch himself on top of the couch and peer out the window for a while, making sure nothing is amiss in the neighborhood. Finally its dinnertime, followed by his evening trip to the dog park. Playing with all his park pup pals successfully poops him out for the rest of the night, so he comes home and (wait for it…) goes back to sleep. He’s gotta rest up so he can repeat it all tomorrow.

What are Kobe’s favorite pup-friendly spots in San Francisco? Crissy Field East Beach & Moscone Dog Park! Anywhere he can run around off leash with other pups. Luckily San Francisco is very dog friendly and there are lots of places nearby to explore and play with other doggos.

If you could describe Kobe in 3 words what would they be? Playful, hungry, floppy

Where is Kobe’s favorite spot to enjoy a Barkley’s Bag bone? In the sun by the window! He loves to sunbathe while savoring his favorite treats.
