Tips for Road Tripping with your Four Legged Co-Pilot

Road trips have been in full swing this summer and aren’t the same without your favorite four legged co-pilot! Below are a few tips to ensure for a smooth and safe ride for pet and pet parent:

  • Take your pup on a long walk or pupdate before the car ride to wear them out

  • Avoid feeding your dog right before you’re about to leave, giving them plenty of time to get out their first potty

  • Pack all of the essentials: food, plenty of water, harness and leash, poop bags, treats, toys, wipes and any medication your pup may be taking

  • Prepare the car with a safe area for the dog/s to lay allowing for plenty of room (bed, crate, etc)

  • Stop for potty and water breaks every 2-3 hours

  • Bring distractions such as your pups favorite toy or a Barkley’s Bag bone to chew on (bring a small cooler of ice for that!)

Happy road tripping!
